Available to patients throughout Florida

What Is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative psychiatry is an approach that treats the whole person rather than isolated symptoms. It combines the best of conventional psychiatric care — thorough evaluation, evidence-based medication, and therapy — with thoughtful attention to the lifestyle, biological, and environmental factors that profoundly influence mental health.

Mental well-being doesn't exist in a vacuum. Sleep, stress, hormones, nutrition, relationships, and physical health all shape how we feel and function. Integrative psychiatry brings these factors into the conversation, so treatment addresses the contributors to your condition rather than only its surface symptoms.

When Someone May Benefit From an Integrative Approach

An integrative approach can help anyone seeking mental health care, but it's especially valuable when conventional treatment alone hasn't provided the relief you'd hoped for, or when you sense that something beyond your symptoms is contributing to how you feel.

  • Persistent symptoms despite medication or therapy
  • Stress, burnout, or chronic exhaustion affecting your mood
  • Sleep problems intertwined with anxiety or depression
  • Hormonal changes or transitions influencing your mental health
  • A desire to address root causes, not just symptoms
  • Interest in lifestyle approaches alongside conventional care

What Integrative Treatment Involves

Your evaluation explores the full landscape of your well-being: your symptoms and history, of course, but also your sleep, energy, stress levels, routines, nutrition, physical activity, relationships, and any relevant medical contributors. We consider how these pieces interact, because mental health often improves most when multiple factors are addressed together.

Your treatment plan may include conventional tools — medication, therapy — alongside guidance on sleep, stress management, movement, and other lifestyle factors. The balance depends on your needs and preferences. The goal is a sustainable, personalized plan that supports not just the absence of symptoms but genuine well-being.

How Telehealth Integrative Psychiatry Works

Through secure video visits, your clinician conducts a thorough evaluation, builds your personalized plan, and follows up regularly to monitor your progress and refine your care. Because integrative care often involves multiple factors, follow-up visits are where much of the work happens — assessing what's helping, what isn't, and adjusting accordingly.

Telehealth is particularly well-suited to integrative care: you can discuss your lifestyle, routines, and home environment from the very place those factors play out. Your clinician gains real-world context, and you gain the convenience of consistent, comprehensive care without the commute.

Mind & Soul Therapy's Approach to Integrative Psychiatry

Integrative care is at the heart of how we practice. Our clinicians don't see medication and lifestyle as opposites — they see them as complementary tools in a thoughtful, personalized plan. We take time to understand the full picture of your well-being and treat you as a whole person, not a diagnosis.

Through telehealth, this comprehensive, root-cause approach is accessible across Florida. Whether your care includes medication, therapy, lifestyle guidance, or all of these, you'll work with the same clinician who knows your story and is invested in your lasting improvement — the Mind & Soul approach, delivered wherever you are.

What to Expect

What Happens During Your First Visit

We know starting therapy or psychiatry can feel intimidating. Here's exactly what to expect — no surprises, no pressure.

Step 1: Schedule Your Visit

2 minutes

Call 305-456-1014 or book online. Our team verifies your insurance and finds a time that works for you — often same-week.

Step 2: Intake Questionnaire

10 minutes

Before your visit, you'll complete a brief intake form covering your symptoms, history, medications, and goals. This helps us prepare for your appointment.

Step 3: Comprehensive Evaluation

60 minutes

Your provider conducts a thorough evaluation — not a rushed 15-minute check. We explore your mental health history, lifestyle, hormones, sleep, and physical health to identify root causes.

Step 4: Personalized Treatment Plan

Same visit

Together, you and your provider build a personalized plan — which may include therapy, medication, TMS, acupuncture, BHRT, or lifestyle changes. No two plans are alike.

Step 5: Follow-Up & Ongoing Care

Ongoing

We schedule follow-ups to track your progress and adjust your plan. Most patients begin noticing improvement within 2-4 weeks of starting treatment.
